  Good location outside of Nairobi, hard to fault - 4 nights, 2 rooms, in January/February. Very convenient location 10 minutes from the airport. Only metres from the Expressway into Nairobi. We got the Uber into the city this way... read more and paid the toll charge ($3) each way which avoided a lot of traffic and saved time. The run into town runs adjacent to Nairobi National Park. Getting to suburbs like Karen and Langata from here avoids the worst of the city traffic. Nairobi traffic is crazy- avoid peak times if traveling around town. Access to Wilson Airport from the hotel would also be quite good. The hotel is modern and comfortable, the rooms quite spacious. Coffee and tea making facilities provided with a small fridge. Air con in some of the rooms was not very effective- they did move us when asked. Hanging space but absolutely nowhere else to unpack your clothes. They were happy to store some of our luggage between stays. Staff were all first rate- restaurant staff were excellent. Food was excellent and huge portions. Food and drink were priced at the top end of places on our stay in Kenya but still very reasonable. That is, except wine, which is very expensive. Some of the meat dishes were a little on the chewy side but pasta was very good. There is a large swimming pool but it’s not heated which might be why it wasn’t being used a great deal!

  Service parallel to none! - Wow! We had an amazing stay at the Argyle. I’m an American and so there were a few things that were different from home-like paying for ice, no drawers to... read more store clothes, the electricity shuts completely off when you leave the room, and no refrigeration (it was not ever cold). BUT none of that mattered because the food was amazing, the beds were so clean and comfy (no top sheet though-that was kinda different), the rooms were lovely, and the service was incredible! I gotta shout out a few people on staff-Ashley in the dining hall-my namesake-you were wonderful! So was Valentine and Sarah! Irene made sure we all (20 of us) were laughing and well cared for every day! Grace makes the BEST iced coffee! And Lee, our room steward, opened our window everyday so it wasn’t stifling when we came in at night. This kind of friendly service can’t be found in the US. The made me fall in love with Kenya before I ever really stepped foot outside the doors of the hotel!

  Restaurant is good for food! - We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant with a very attentive and friendly waitress called Valentine. The food was great and the drinks were ice cold!
